Pork Tonkatsu Recipe - is a Japanese food which consists of a breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet. There are two main types, fillet and loin. It is often served with shredded cabbage.
Tonkatsu originated in Japan in the 19th century. As well as being served as a single dish, it is also used as a sandwich filling or in combination with curry.
Pork Recipe

Pork Tonkatsu Recipe Ingredients:

  • individual portions of boneless pork chops
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko or bread crumbs
  • oil for deep frying
Directions:
  1. Rub some salt and pepper on the pork chops. Let stand for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat the cooking oil in a frying pan.
  3. Coat the pork chops with flour and then dip in the beaten egg mixture.
  4. Coat the pork chop with Panko bread crumbsMake sure that all sides are completely coated.
  5. Fry one side of the Tonkatsu in low to medium heat until the color turns golden brown (about 6 to 9 minutes)and them flip to cook the other side.
  6. Arrange in a serving plate with shredded cabbage.
  7. Serve. Share and enjoy!

For Sauce:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup tomato ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons ginger powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated white sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup warm sake

Cooking Procedure:

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Stir the ingredients using a spoon.
  3. Place the bowl in a microwave oven and then microwave for 15 to 20 seconds.
  4. Stir once more and then serve with Tonkatsu.

History
Early katsuretsu was usually beef; the pork version was invented in Japan in 1899 at a restaurant called Rengatei in Tokyo. It was originally considered a type of yoshoku Japanese versions of European cuisine invented in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and was called katsuretsu cutlet or simply katsu.
