How To Cook Filipino Style Chicken Macaroni
Filipino Style Chicken Macaroni - It is easy to make your own Filipino Chicken Macaroni Salad; all you have to do is prepare some of the ingredients beforehand. The elbow macaroni needs to be cooked and drained while the chicken needs to be boiled and shredded. Once the macaroni and chicken are ready, all you have to do is combine all the ingredients and toss. It will also be nice if you serve your Filipino Chicken Macaroni Salad chilled. I do this by mixing all the ingredients in a stainless mixing bowl. I place that same mixing bowl with the Filipino Chicken Macaroni Salad in the fridge. The stainless steel bowl will help the salad get cold faster and this will be beneficial if you are pressed for time.

To me, Filipino Chicken Macaroni Salad makes a good appetizer and snack. I also love to have this as a main dish (for some reason) especially if I am having stews such as kaldereta or menudo. This dish is typically served during Filipino fiestas and also during family outings and picnic. I remember having this regularly during a quick picnic by the beach and it goes well with Pinoy pork barbecue (skewered pork).

It’s that time of the month again where World in a Plate members share a themed dish and for this month it will be pasta and rice salads. This theme will be hard for me as I barely know recipes for pasta or rice salads due to the fact that in the Filipino culture we use those two ingredients more for mains rather than in a salad.
You might even get a weird look when you serve a rice salad to the common Filipino. But there is this one and only salad in the Filipino cuisine (that I know of and remember) which uses pasta in a salad thanks to the American’s who introduced this and popularized by KFC in the Philippines, the macaroni salad.

Macaroni Salad is one of the common salads that is usually accompanied together with roast, barbecued or even fried meats, it usually served cold and made with elbow macaroni pasta dressed with mayonnaise. Other ingredients such as flaked chicken or tuna, carrots, celery, raisins, cheese and pineapple are used. I would recommend paring it with something spicy and hot as the creaminess of this salad balances out the flavors both dishes.
Filipino Style Chicken Macaroni Additional Trivia
Macaroni salad is a type of pasta salad, served cold made with cooked elbow macaroni and usually prepared with mayonnaise. Much like potato salad or coleslaw in its use, it is often served as a side dish to barbecue, fried chicken, or other picnic style dishes. Like any dish, national and regional variations abound but generally it is prepared with raw diced onions, dill or sweet pickles and celery and seasoned with salt and pepper.
